One usually associates body slams with professional wrestling. Not with a garage door.
Surveillance cameras caught a group of people forming a line in front of a garage door in a New Mexico neighborhood, then running into the door and causing damage, KOAT reported.
The incident took place at 2:20 a.m. on July 19 in an Albuquerque neighborhood, and there was more than $1,000 in damages, including a bent frame, the television station reported.
Authorities said there did not seem any intent by the people to break into the home, adding it appeared to be a trend, KRQE reported.
"This has cost us an arm and a leg," Brittany Nelson, whose in-laws live in the home, told KOAT. "The door was completely broken. We couldn't save any of it."
Nelson posted a video on social media and said about six other people nearby shared photos of similar damage to their garages.
"People had more damage than we did, but I'm not going to sit there and tolerate it," Nelson told KOAT.
Victoria Gurule, whose parents own the home, called the damages "really personal."
"It's a huge violation when it happens to, you know, your own family," Gurule told KRQE.
Nelson and another neighbor whose garage was damaged are offering a $200 reward for information about the people who rammed into the doors, the television station reported.
