Despite many stations running out of gas amidst preparations for Hurricane Matthew, Florida’s governor says there are no fuel shortages in the state.
Speaking alongside Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry and Duval Emergency Management officials, Gov. Rick Scott said Florida has enough fuel reserves to last eight days even if Matthew should knock all of the state’s ports out of commission.
“What we’re seeing is some spot areas where a station might be out but we don’t have any fuel shortages in the state,” Scott said. “We have reserves on standby.”
