The mid-air mishap left Sebastian Leal, 23, seriously injured.

The other skydiver, who was not identified, suffered serious but non-threatening injuries.

The collision also knocked Leal's GoPro camera loose, sending it spiraling to the ground.

Leal said the accident left him with several broken vertebrae and paralyzed from the waist down, but he believes his paralysis is temporary, and he will be able to skydive again.

"What happened to me is very unlikely. It's a freak accident," he said.

Leal told ABC News Thursday that he will leave Tampa, where he was hospitalized, and go to Atlanta for rehabiliation.

He said he may be there 5-10 weeks.
