Animal lovers in the Worcester area are coming together to help a Chihuahua puppy that was stabbed during a home invasion.
Kona, the 12-week-old puppy, was in a Worcester home on Oct. 4 when two men entered the home with a knife and a gun to attack the inhabitants.
The robbers stabbed one man who also suffered a broken leg and injured shoulder. Another man suffered a head injury during the attack. In addition, a 2-year-old girl was home during the attack but not injured.
Kona was treated at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine for her stab wounds, but an infection took hold and he needs additional surgery.
