A Pennsylvania high school is reaching out to a student from a different district after she was not permitted to attend her school's prom because of her wardrobe.
Aniya Wolf and her date were not allowed to go to Bishop McDevitt's prom because Wolf was wearing a suit, WHTM reported.
Bishop McDevitt is a Catholic school in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The dress code spelled out what girls could wear.
The school posted the policy on its Facebook page. It said girls were only permitted to wear formal dresses. If a student did not follow the dress code sent to parents three months ago, the students would not be permitted to go to the prom.
School officials said that when they learned of a student's plans for wearing a tux, they reached out to the student's mother to resolve the question before the dance.
Officials also said this is not the first year that a student has been turned away for not following the prom's dress code.
The junior did not change her mind, dressing in the suit instead of a gown for the dance, WHTM reported.
After hearing about her story, a neighboring school district has reached out to Wolf to invite her to its prom.
The principal at William Penn High School in the York City School District has invited Wolf and her date to attend its prom May 21, WHTM reported.
She plans on taking the school up on the offer, and will be in contact with the school's principal to work out the logistics.
