A Georgia high school student is in a prestigious group after he got a perfect score on his SAT.

Andy Sun, 16, is a junior at Atlanta's Woodward Academy said he was shocked by his score.

“I was, like, 'Is this showing you the maximum score or is this my actual score?' I wasn’t entirely sure,” he said.
Less than one percent of students score a perfect 2400 on the SAT.
According to College Board, more than 73,000 students in Georgia took the SAT in 2014. Of those, 11 students achieved the highest possible score.

Sun has straight As and is taking five AP courses. His chemistry teacher said his leadership on campus is off the charts, too.

“He brings to the table lots of different components that you see in various kids, but rarely find in one student. Andy is that student,” Mark Carrington said.

Not only is Sun a good student, he also excels at fencing.
Fencing tournaments take him all over the world. He is now ranked second in the country in his age group.
The one thing he can’t do? Drive.
While he’s working on getting his driver’s license, he’s checking out a few colleges. He said he’s interested in Harvard, Columbia, the University of Pennsylvania, Notre Dame and Princeton.
Sun’s advice to other students is to work hard, take SAT practice tests and relax.
“Relax and realize when colleges look at you, there’s a lot more about your personality than just your scores. You’re not defined by a number,” he said.
