Florida woman, 18, used infant to batter boyfriend on beach,...

Fourth of July beachgoers have kept Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue crews busy this weekend, including a domestic disturbance on the beach where they said a woman used a baby in a fight with her boyfriend.

The incident was reported near 300 North on Daytona Beach shortly before 4:30 p.m.

Beach Safety officers said an 18-year-old woman of Orange County got into a fight with her boyfriend and used her 6-month-old baby boy to batter the man.

The infant was taken to the hospital and is OK.

The woman, who was not identified, was arrested.

No other details were released.
