Florida runner mistakes snake for tree branch

Fox 13 reports a Florida resident was running at Robinson Preserve Park, in Bradenton, when they thought they saw a fallen tree branch.
After a second look, the runner discovered the branch was actually a boa constrictor and notified park officials.
The officials called Wildlife Inc., which sent two workers to capture the 100-pound red-tailed boa.
The snake's demeanor indicated that it may have been a pet that was released by its owner or escaped.
If the owner is found and discovered as letting the snake loose, they could be charged. Releasing nonnative species into the wild is illegal in Florida.
