A routine call for a Florida police officer ended with him finding his new best friend.
Ft. Walton Beach police Officer Marcus Montgomery responded to the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society for a call about a threat from an ex-employee, he wrote on imgur.com.
As he was wrapping up the call, a shelter supervisor introduced him to a puppy that was left with nine others in a box in near-freezing temperatures at the back doorstep of the shelter.
"She brings me this lil guy, chill, no whining, no barking, just chill," Montgomery wrote.
Now Vader, a pit bull terrier mix Montgomery previously adopted from the shelter, is going to have company.
Montgomery, not straying from the "Star Wars" theme, already had a name in mind - Kylo.
Officer Montgomery giving his new potential family member some lovin'. Thank you for all you do for our community and for adopting from PAWS!
