An armed man robbed a 7-Eleven early Sunday not long after botching a robbery attempt at another 7-Eleven 2 miles away on the same road, the Kissimmee Police Department said.
The man walked into the 7-Eleven at North John Young Parkway and asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes.
“When the clerk turned around, the suspect went behind the counter and pointed a black gun at the clerk,” said Stacie Miller, a police spokeswoman. “The clerk ran into the office and the suspect fled the scene.”
After spooking the clerk at the first 7-Eleven, the man then drove 2 miles south to try again at another 7-Eleven on South John Young Parkway.
“The suspect pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money,” Miller said. “The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.”
Neither clerk was injured.
The robber is described as a Hispanic man about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a tattooed face. He was wearing a red hoodie and khaki pants.
