Two people who kicked their way into several homes to steal electronics and other items have been arrested, according to Kissimmee police.
Authorities said stolen shoes and social media helped lead them to the suspects.
About five burglaries have been reported at the Country Creek Estates over the past month, leaving neighbors on high alert.
Police said they were doing extra patrols, but that's not what helped them catch the crooks.
A victim's friend spotted a photo on Facebook of shoes that were stolen from one of the houses. The post on Charles Hollimon's page also mentioned electronics for sale, according to police.
Police said Hollimon helped sell items that he stole with Joshua Ayala. They said Hollimon was Facebook friends with someone who knew the victim and recognized the items as stolen, so they arranged to meet.
"When they got there and realized, 'Hey, that's my stuff,' they started chasing (Ayala), so, he called us for help," said Stacie Miller of the Kissimmee Police Department.
Police responded and arrested Ayala. Police said he and Hollimon confessed to several nearby burglaries, many along the same street in Kissimmee.
Police said the Facebook post will help them prove their case.
"It made it a little bit easier for them to solidify the case, find the items and get them back to the victims," Miller said.
Ayala and Holliimon are both behind bars, each facing about 60 charges.
Kissimmee police said the two will likely face more charges in Orange and Lake counties.
