A South Florida man has asked for the public’s help in finding his cats, showing his devotion to his feline friends by offering a $20,000 reward.
The seven cats were stolen from Steve Rosen's Davie-area property between March 2015 and February of this year, he told NBC Miami. The cats disappeared one at a time, even after he installed a $10,000 camera system and hired a private investigator.
"They're like my children," Rosen said. "Imagine one of your children disappear and then another one disappears."
Rosen said his only remaining option was to offer a reward. "I'm counting on greed to find my cats," he told Broward Palm Beach New Times. "That's why I've put up the reward. Someone knows where they are, and someone knows who took them."
Rosen said he doesn't rule out raising the reward even higher. The cats had microchips and radio collars, but no trace of them has been found, NBC Miami reported.
Rosen said he has 30 rescue cats, a parrot, and a rooster.
