Daytona, Florida, police said they've arrested a man who tried to kill his mother after an argument.
Investigators said Stewart Butler, 27, threatened to kill his 49-year-old mother and shot at her with a 12-gauge shotgun after they argued over chores.
Authorities said Butler also threw his mother's kitten against the wall and said, "I'll cut it in half and make you eat it." He then chased her through their home on Palmetto Avenue with the shotgun, investigators said.
His mother was not injured.
The woman's kitten did not have visible injuries, but was taken to the veterinarian as a precaution.
Butler was charged with attempted murder and animal cruelty. He is in jail without bail.
