Florida man accidentally shoots himself in grocery store checkout line

May 5, 2019A shopper accidentally shot himself Sunday afternoon while in a Florida grocery store, investigators said.
The man shot himself in a lower extremity while inside a Publix supermarket, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies are on scene of an accidental shooting at the Publix located on Collier Pkwy.
A white male victim appears to have accidentally discharged his weapon inside the store, striking himself in a lower extremity.
There is no active threat.
The man was in line getting ready to check out when the gun went off, WFTS reported.
The man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, WFTS reported.
