A father shot three of his children, killing two, before fatally shooting himself in a Florida home, authorities say.
Volusia County Sheriff's officials told WFTV Lauren Mohney, 9, is in critical condition at Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando. Savanna Mohney, 14, and David Mohney, 11, were killed, deputies said. Their father, David Mohney, 52, was pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.
The shooting occurred at the Port Orange, Florida, home, which is about five miles south of Daytona Beach.
The wife, Cynthia Mohney, 48, had fled to a neighbor's house to get help, telling the neighbor that she had been fighting with her husband, who had threatened her with a gun, officials said. A short time later, the sound of gunshots rang out, deputies said.
Deputies said they entered the home and found the husband and children shot.
Cynthia Mohney is being interviewed by detectives. Authorities said there is a history of domestic violence in the home.
