A Florida man was sentenced Wednesday for breaking into his former classmate’s condo last year while wearing women’s clothes.
On Wednesday it took a judge 15 minutes to sentence Paul Kartsonis to six years in state prison for armed burglary, Action News Jax reported.
The 32-year-old was given another 10 years for stalking and possession of burglary tools.
Friday, Kartsonis apologized to the victim, his former classmate.
“Molly, I just wanted to say that I am deeply sorry for what I did to you,” he said.
Kartsonis pleaded guilty in December to breaking into the victim's condo with handcuffs, a taser and a knife, although the victim wasn't home at the time.
According to a police report, he stole the woman’s bra, underwear and dress and was found wearing them underneath his clothing, along with prosthetic silicone breasts, when police arrived.
Police said they also found a used condom on the victim’s bed when Kartsonis was arrested in May.
During his sentencing hearing last week, Kartsonis told the judge he went to the victim’s home because he knew she wasn't there, even though he told an officer he had been watching her for weeks and fantasizing about her.
On Friday, Kartsonis was banned from contacting the victim and ordered to serve 25 years’ probation, get psychiatric care and wear a GPS monitor.
The judge also said Kartsonis would be required to undergo a polygraph test during his probation once a year, and that all his electronic devices with internet access would need to be monitored.
