A 5-foot long Asian monocled cobra escaped its enclosure but was found later Saturday in a Florida neighborhood.
"The cobra was captured by our staff very close to the residence," Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said in a Facebook post. "The cobra is being held in a licensed facility."
The escape had some Fort Myers residents on high alert, while someone else decided to start the @FortMyersCobra Twitter account. FM Cobra tweeted amusing reasons for the escape, interacted with reporters tweeting stories about the escape and the eventual capture.
