A Miami fire department is showing us why bald really is beautiful. They're supporting one of their fellow firefighters, whose son is suffering from cancer.
Jesse James, 3, was diagnosed with leukemia less than a month ago.
The toddler's already undergone intensive chemotherapy treatments, but his dad -- Miami firefighter Jesse Santerre -- wanted to shave his son's head before his hair fell out.
The little boy was afraid to cut his hair, so Santerre's colleagues made a bold move! They gave Jesse the clippers and let the 3-year old shave dad's head, along with seven others.
"It means a lot. Since day one it's been a brotherhood within the fire department, and the outcome today just makes it a lot stronger -- plus my son, my little one gets to see how strong this brotherhood really is," Santerre told
.
The department plans to start selling orange wristbands that say "Jesse James" and "M-F-D Strong."
This week, doctors are also hoping new test results show Jesse's cancer is in remission.
