A fireball lit up the sky over north Georgia and across the East Coast Monday evening.
A police cruiser recorded video of the possible meteor in West Virginia as it shot across the sky.
WSB-TV's chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said some people saw the fireball and heard booms over north Georgia around 9:30 p.m.
NASA believes it was space junk or a meteor that shot across the sky.
