Her owner announced the news of her death on social media Monday. According to the announcement, Lil Bub died in her sleep on Sunday at the age of 8.
Lil Bub dealt with multiple genetic anomalies, including what her owner described as an extreme case of dwarfism. Lil Bub remained kitten sized throughout her life.
Most recently, she had been dealing with what her owner described as a "persistent and aggressive bone infection."
Lil Bub's unusual appearance made her a hit on social media. She has over 2 million Instagram followers. Her owner used that platform to raise over $700,000 for pets with special needs.
