FBI agents arrived late Sunday at the residence of the gunman who killed 50 people and wounded 53 others at a gay nightclub in Orlando.

Agents planned to search the apartment of Omar Mateen, who died in a shootout with police at the Pulse nightclub.

An earlier search targeted a house on Southwest Bayshore Boulevard in Port St. Lucie also linked to Mateen's family. Mateen's father, Seddique Mateen, apparently uses the home as a business address.

The FBI’s evidence response team was at the site late Sunday. So were international media, including a Japanese television crew.

The search came amid vigils for the victims at sites from West Palm Beach to Palm Beach Gardens to Port St. Lucie.
