A father's frustration during a shopping trip with his son led to a changing table being placed in a Maryland Macy's men's room.
Anthony Dew was Christmas shopping in early December when he needed to change his son's diaper.
"Every father knows you've got to change the diaper before you get started," Dew told Fox 5 DC.
When Dew looked on all three floors of Macy's for a place to change his 4-month-old Jeremiah in The Mall of Prince Georges, he couldn't find one.
"At that point, I was stuck, because unless the baby is content, you've got to have a dry diaper."
Dew left the store without buying anything and wrote a letter to Macy's chairman and CEO Terry Lundgre.
Store manager Ufuoma Onosakponome was contacted by her supervisors: "We put a team together and started work almost immediately," she said.
The result was a renovated men's room with a changing table.
Dew's wife and Jeremiah's mother, Tameka, said she was surprised at the turnaround from when her husband wrote the letter: "It was within the same week."
Dew says Macy's gave him a gift card to apologize for the inconvenience.
