Two people were killed early Saturday in a shooting at a Georgia nightclub, police said.

According to the Richmond County Coroner's Office, the shooting occurred at 2:45 a.m. Saturday at the Private Eye Club in Augusta, WDRW reported.

The Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Charles Edward Lawson III, 28, and Ja Brie Savonjay Dominguez, 23, the television station reported.

Police said Lawson was shot at least one time and was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, WRDW reported. Dominguez also was shot at least once and was pronounced dead around 3 a.m., police said.

An investigation is ongoing, the television station reported
