Reynolds needed a cane to walk on-stage at the ComicCon event in Philadelphia. "I haven't done this before. I think it's a good time to find out what it's all about," the former action star told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

"I always enjoy talking to fans,” Reynolds continued. “I'm usually very pleased with their curiosity about my career, what I'm doing, what I'm not doing, and why I'm not doing more."

Reynolds is 79-years old and far removed from his days in movies like “Smokey and the Bandit,” "Cannonball Run," "Sharky’s Machine," and “Deliverance.”

Despite his condition. fans were thrilled to meet the "Longest Yard" star.

People reports Reynolds made the show to promote his upcoming book "But Enough About Me." In it, he'll talk about the personalities he worked with over his nearly six-decade career. "I got along great with 98 percent of them," he began. "And a few of them I didn't like at all."
