A family's dog was found fatally shot in its yard Saturday morning.
Moe, a 12-year-old sheltie, was taken to the veterinarian and it was determined the dog was shot by a .22 or .17-caliber bullet, WSMH reported.
The wound is not consistent with one from a gun used for hunting, police said.
Mary Beth Reidel, Moe's owner, is concerned because whoever shot her dog would have been aiming at her business, which is connected to her house.
Animal control will perform an autopsy to retrieve the bullet.
