Facebook goes down briefly for many users

The popular social networking site Facebook.com went down for many users Thursday.

Starting around 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time, the site went down for approximately 15 minutes according to various services that monitor Internet issues and incidents.

Facebook slowly started to come back online around 12:45 p.m.

There is still no word on the cause of the outage.
