Multiple reports indicate that Richard Matt, one of two convicted murderers who escaped from an upstate New York prison, has been shot and killed by authorities.
Matt was reportedly killed Friday afternoon by an officer in the Border Patrol Tactical Unit.
Sources told CNN Matt approached police with a shotgun before being shot dead.
Police are still pursuing David Sweat, according to multiple reports.
