Blackmon had just gotten home after spending months in a hospital. He said he had nothing to eat and no way to get to the store. Blackmon said he was desperate and asked the operator if someone could go to the store for him.
The operator, Marilyn Hinson, delivered the food in person, accompanied by two police officers.
"It was like a little miracle ringing in my ears. I thought 'Jesus, you answered all my prayers,'" Blackmon said.
Blackmon called the ham sandwich Hinson made “a feast.”
She made him several more for later on and told him to call her if he needed anything.
Blackmon said he will be getting a home care nurse soon to check on him twice a week.
