Edward Snowden weighs in on Hillary Clinton email scandal

Former intelligence expert-turned-whistleblower Edward Snowden is giving his take on the Hillary Clinton email scandal.

After FBI Director James Comey announced Sunday that the agency stands by its initial findings and does not recommend charges against Clinton, many Trump supporters denounced the findings, saying the FBI couldn't have reviewed the 650,000 emails found on the computer of former Rep. Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin, in such a short time.

On Sunday, Jeff Jarvis, a professor and blogger, asked Snowden to weigh in.

"Hey @Snowden, for context, how long would it take the NSA to dedupe 650k emails?" Jarvis tweeted.

Snowden responded that it wouldn't take long for authorities to pore over the emails.

"Drop non-responsive To:/CC:/BCC:, hash both sets, then subtract those that match. Old laptops could do it in minutes-to-hours," he wrote.
