Dramatic new video shows the explosion of a Ballantyne, North Carolina home, at the exact moment that it happened.

Neighbor Rich Campe shared his video from his home security camera, which shows plywood, shingles and insulation flying into the frame after a short flash is seen on screen.

Campe’s home was one of several next to the Ballantyne home that exploded that had damage.

"It's a wake-up call," Campe said. "It happened so fast. You look from one second to another, the difference that can happen."

Rania Karam was killed in the explosion, while her husband, Dr. Jebran Karam, was seriously injured.

Campe said Rania was always smiling and would host dinners for those in the neighborhood to get to know each other better.

The home was 6,300 square feet and worth more than $1.2 million, according to the county's property appraisal.
