Dozens of strangers show up to bury elderly woman

A group of strangers showed up to a funeral for a woman none of them ever met.

Ora Golda Weinbach wrote a Facebook post, asking if anyone would like to attend a funeral at which her dad, a rabbi, was presiding in Blauvelt, New York.

According to the post, the funeral director and the rabbi were the only people scheduled to attend.

“Every person deserves to be buried with dignity,” Marquis Home Care wrote on Facebook. They offered transportation to anyone willing to attend the 11 a.m. funeral.

In all, 30 people took time out of their day on Aug. 16 to say goodbye to a woman none of them knew.

“This show of compassion is an example of what humanity is capable of,” wrote Marquis Home Care in a follow-up post after the funeral.
