Judy Muhe’s two dogs are not just pets. She calls them her guardians.

That's because the two dogs, Higgins and Dodger, protected Muhe after the 76-year-old, who has Parkinson's, fell in her kitchen, according to this local news report.

The dogs stayed close and nuzzled Muhe, keeping her body temperature stable, which is important for those with Parkinson’s.

Muhe lives alone. Two days passed before a concerned neighbor used a spare key to check on Muhe. The dogs raced to the door and back to the kitchen, leading the neighbor to where Muhe had fallen.

Muhe suffered a broken shoulder and some bruises. She’s been through two surgeries and is on the mend. She encourages everyone to be good to their pets.
