Bail bondswoman Beth Chapman, the wife of Duane "Dog" Chapman, is in a medically induced coma, her husband confirmed.
"It's quite serious," a representative for the couple told People.
The news comes after years of health challenges for the "Dog the Bounty Hunter" stars. Beth Chapman revealed she had Stage 2 throat cancer in 2017, CNN reported. In a November 2017 A&E special called "Dog & Beth: Fight of their Lives," the couple said the cancer was successfully removed.
In 2018, it came back and Beth Chapman's lawyer told KHNL that she underwent emergency throat surgery. Since then, she's continued to fight the disease, providing updates on her Instagram page, including one at their Honolulu bail bonds business, Da Kine Bail Bonds.
Duane Chapman asked for prayers for his wife in a Facebook post, linking to a KHNL report about Beth Chapman.
In a Saturday statement to KHNL, the Chapman family said they "humbly ask everyone to please pray for Beth" and sent their "sincere thanks to everyone for their prayers throughout Beth's battle with cancer."
The Chapmans are set to star in a new reality show, "Dog's Most Wanted," in 2020.
"My wife, the love of my life, is fighting for her life, and instead of being at home helping her, I'm out here looking for you," Dog Chapman is seen saying in a promo for the WGN America show. "So I'm warning you in advance: May God have mercy on you when I catch you. Because I won't."
"You've been warned," Beth Chapman said in the clip.
