A tiny dog that disappeared during a burglary nine years ago has made her way back to her owner just in time for Christmas.

In 2007, Sally Butters searched her neighborhood for weeks looking for Gigi, KXTL reports. She put up posters and hoped that her tiny poodle would come home after she disappeared during a robbery of Butters' home.

As the months went by, Butters gave up hope that she would ever find Gigi. But last week, at 13 years old, Gigi finally came back thanks to a microchip implant.

Butters couldn’t believe it.

“I’m shocked. Because you always hope you’ll get your dog back. But you know, nine years, and at 13 years old, she’s still alive. What a Christmas present,” Butters said.
