A dog in Texas was found Friday with its snout taped shut, and authorities are asking for the public's help in solving this case of animal abuse.

The dog, believed to be a female hound mix, was found in poor condition and taken to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. The dog's snout had been wrapped with several layers of electrical tape, according to the news release from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. The tape is believed to have been wrapped around the dog's snout for a long time and has caused extensive damage.

The dog, named Justice by Animal Control staff, is receiving treatment at a local rescue organization. Justice is expected to survive, but it will take a long time for her to recover from her injuries, according to the MCSO.
