Dog discarded with family's trash doing well in foster care
Life is looking up for Boo, the pit bull puppy found waiting for his family, which abandoned him on a pile of trash after they moved.
After undergoing treatment for heartworms, the scrappy pup is in a foster home, happy and waiting to be adopted.
"Boo did great his first night in new foster home and had lots of cuddles and has been on two walks today so far," Mike Diesel, founder of Detroit Youth and Dog Rescue, posted Sunday on Facebook.
Diesel spent two days working to coax Boo, who was curled up on a discarded blue, floral print mattress, to trust him.

Now, Boo appears to be doing well in his new digs.
The rescue group does not have a shelter facility but relies on volunteers to foster the animals until they are adopted. The group is planning a fundraiser Sunday in support of Boo and other dogs the rescue group is trying to help.
