It started out as a day like any other for Devon Ballard and his family, it turned out to be anything but a normal day.

It's a story that happened nearly a decade ago, but is just coming to light thanks to a story filed by KARK this week.

Devon Ballard, a doctor in Little Rock, Arkansas, is used to saving the lives of his patients, but luckily he listened to what he's calling a message from God, for saving the lives of his wife and his two unborn children.

That fateful morning, Ballard said goodbye to his wife who was 28 weeks pregnant with twins. She had high blood pressure, but it wasn't concerning.

But as he went through his day, he had a feeling that he needed to go home, so he did.

Ballard took his wife Christie to see her doctor, who found that she was dehydrated.

As nurses inserted an IV, Christie had a seizure and then a stroke. If the babies were not delivered immediately, they would die, KARK reported.

Doctors had both babies delivered in about 30 seconds, early but alive.

Devon and Christie both credit that his nagging feeling was actually a message from God that saved three young lives.

Eight years later after receiving the message, the family is still doing well, and trying to share their message.

Christie told KARK to "Pay attention to those God nudges and even the God winks. When you see something that is like a smile from God. Cherish those as well."
