Disneyland recently honored a free ticket a woman won at the theme park 34 years ago.
When Tamia Richardson was 14, she visited Disneyland and won a free ticket as part of the park's 30th anniversary promotion in 1985, The Los Angeles Times reported.
Richardson, now a teacher in Alberta, Canada, had returned to the park several times over the years but had forgotten about the ticket until recently, when she discovered it in a box of keepsakes.
"I found it and I said, 'I need to try to use it,'" Richardson told the Times.
On Thursday, Richardson took her two daughters to the park and handed an attendant the ticket with an image of Sleeping Beauty’s castle and the words, “Admit one to Disneyland.”
The park accepted the ticket but replaced it with a day pass giving her access to Disneyland and California Adventure Park.
The ticket Richardson won was $16.50 in 1985, about $39 when adjusted for inflation. The ticket park officials gave her Thursday costs about $199.
Richardson planned to enjoy the visit.
"We are trying to hit them all," Richardson told the Times.
