Disney will scan fingers of 3- to 9-year-olds to battle ticket fraud

Sept 7, 2016Children between the ages of 3 and 9 will have their fingers scanned when they enter the Walt Disney World theme parks in an effort to combat ticket fraud.
According to The Associated Press, the new requirement was created to help block the use of stolen and shared tickets. Older children and adult visitors have had their fingers scanned for years.
Disney introduced scanners more than a decade ago that used “finger geometry” — pictures of several points on people's fingers.
Parents uncomfortable with having their children’s fingers scanned can use their own instead.
