Deputies seek Florida man accused of raping, critically injuring 2-year-old girl

Authorities in Florida are searching for a man wanted in connection with the rape of a toddler.

According to WFTX, the Collier County Sheriff's Office said Roberto Lopez, 40, of Immokalee, is accused of sexual battery on a victim under 12.

The victim, a 2-year-old girl, was critically injured in the attack, the TV station reported.

Hendry County Sheriff Steve Whidden took to Facebook on Wednesday to share a photo and description of Lopez.

"This guy is pure evil and does not need to be on our streets," Whidden wrote.
