A customer who was apparently displeased with the burrito she was served at Del Taco in Ontario, California, cursed at employees, threw a bowl of business cards and the pepper-sprayed the manager in the parking lot, police said.

The confrontation began when the customer loudly complained about the burrito. After swearing at employees and throwing the bowl of cards, she left.

The store manager followed her into the parking lot to get a license plate number. When the manager and a customer in the parking lot approached her, she opened fire, the victim said.

"I just happened to look at her, and she sprayed me and the employee in the face," customer Rose Keith told NBC LA. "I didn't know what to think. I've never had pepper spray in my face. It was terrible. It's awful."

The was gone so quickly that there was not much of a description to provide for police.

"I couldn't believe it. It was surreal,” an employee said.  “All because of a burrito.”

NBC4 reports that Del Taco released a statement saying, "A police report was filed, and Del Taco is in full cooperation with the authorities to help identify the perpetrator."
