These two don't mind being different.

Julia and her new puppy, Walter, were both born deaf. A video shared by the Pasadena Humane Society in California shows the special bond between the two. You can see Julia teaching Walter sign language, showing him signs for "sit" and "water."

“They’re the same,” said Julia’s mom. “When I first held Julia, since she couldn’t really hear my voice, she would smell my neck. And when I first held Walter, he did almost the same exact thing.”

She says it was fate that he became a part of their family.

“I remember just looking at him, and I just knew that he was meant to be ours,” she said.
