Deadly New Jersey train crash: What we know

At least one person was killed and more than 100 people injured Thursday morning when a train crashed into a busy transit hub in New Jersey.

Authorities by 12 p.m. had pulled all survivors from the mass of twisted metal and debris left behind after a NJ Transit Train struck into Hoboken Terminal during rush hour. Hospital officials said victims were treated at three hospitals: Christ Hospital in Jersey City saw one patient; Hoboken University Medical Center saw 22 patients and Jersey City Medical Center had 51 patients.

In all, 108 people were injured, Gov. Chris Christie said at a news conference Thursday afternoon. One person was killed. Authorities declined to identify the person, citing the need to notify the victim's family.

Social media reports started pouring in around 8:45 a.m.

"My train just ran full force into Hoboken Station," wrote Twitter user jaydanahy at 8:46 a.m.

Hoboken is directly across the Hudson River from New York City. More than 50,000 people use the city's terminal daily, according to NJ Transit.
