A Texas day care is under fire after a mother claimed her baby was left alone inside after the business closed for the day.

According to KTRK, Sharonda Ross said she and her husband recently went to pick up their 10-month-old son, Jordan, from Joann's Day Care and Camp in Houston about 45 minutes after closing. She said they were running late because she originally thought her husband had already picked up the child. When she realized he had not, the pair hurried to the day care.

When they arrived, the doors were locked and the baby was alone inside, crying in a crib, Ross said.

"I put my phone on record and start recording it," Ross told KTRK. "He breaks the window. We start breaking the glass out. He goes in, and I'm still recording it the whole time. He comes (back) and there's my baby – just left."

Joann Davis, who owns the day care, said she was "deeply, terribly sorry" and is glad the baby is OK. The employee who left the baby won't be fired, Davis added.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating Ross' claims.
