Authorities on Monday morning found a 12-year-old boy who had been reported missing near Kennedy Peak in Virginia, according to the Page County Sheriff's Office.

Update 9:25 a.m. EDT Aug. 26: Deputies said in an update Monday morning that crews were working to get Collin Branch out of the trail.

Deputies had asked for help earlier Monday find Collin.

Original report: Crews in Virginia are asking for the public's help as they try to find a missing boy near Kennedy Peak.

According to WSLS-TV, state and local authorities are using ground crews, police dogs and aircraft to search for Collin Branch, 12, who has autism.

In a Facebook post early Monday, the Page County Sheriff's Office described Branch as a "white male with dirty blonde/brown hair." He was wearing a gray Under Armour polo shirt with gray shorts and black, white and red shoes, authorities said.

"Please check waterways, pools, outbuildings, animal pens, farm equipment, vehicles, etc.," the post read. "Dial 911 immediately if you have any information."
