Today's a day that many of us, at least those over the age of 21, can really get behind and celebrate.
April 7 is National Beer Day, according to National Day Calendar.
And while the "holiday" is relatively new, dating back to around 2009, beer itself isn't.
Fermented beverages started brewing around 12,000 when hunter-gatherer tribes morphed into an agrarian society, growing crops like wheat, rice, barley and maize, the History Channel found.
The earliest alcoholic beverage came on the scene about 9,000 years ago in China and consisted of rice, honey and fruit. The first barley beer came from the Middle East. There has been evidence found that shows beer production 5,000 years ago in ancient Mesopotamia.

So what is the most popular beer in the U.S.? According to the Beverage Industry, most beer buyers are spending their money on imported and craft beers. The top imported beer in 2015 was Corona Extra, while Samuel Adams is the top craft beer.
Bud Light is the top domestic beer with sales of $6 million according to Beverage Industry.
