Authorities used a stun gun on a woman after she gouged a sheriff's deputy with her fingernails while her son was being arrested, a report said.
Manatee County Sheriff's deputies went to the home near Bradenton on Thanksgiving night to arrest a 19-year-old man for a domestic battery incident involving his mother.
But deputies said 45-year-old Victoria Shaw pushed the deputy three times in the chest and dug her fingernails into him. Deputies hit her in the left thigh and the back of her left knee with a stun gun to subdue her, officials said.
Shaw is being held at the Manatee County Jail on charges of resisting arrest and battery on an officer. It's not known whether she has hired an attorney.
The name of her son, who was also arrested, has not been released.
