A little boy who had to undergo emergency surgery during his spring break in Florida will soon get back to his home state of Michigan.

Chandyn Thompson was born with a brain condition that no one in his family knew about until he fell ill during his Florida vacation, WZZM reported.

Chandyn had to have life-saving surgery thousands of miles from home.

Doctors wanted to have him flown from Florida to a Michigan children's hospital, but it came with a $44,000 price tag.

Donors put up the money, but executives with AeroCare Air Ambulance Service stepped it, donating the flight, WZZM reported.

Chandyn is expected to fly home Wednesday.
