The Coast Guard suspended the search Sunday for a man who fell from a cruise ship near Key West, Florida.
David Mossman, 46, of Texas, fell about 100 feet from the 10th deck of the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Navigator of the Seas around 3 a.m. Saturday.
"We want to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Mossman as the decision to suspend a search is never an easy one to make and is done with great care and deliberation," Chris Eddy, a Coast Guard search-and-rescue specialist, said in a release. "Unfortunately, despite our best efforts and an exhaustive search, our crews were unable to locate him."
The Coast Guard searched 1,676 square nautical miles for Mossman.
