Grand Rapids First in Wyoming used about $15,000 in donations to pay off the debt in full through RIP Medical Debt, a nonprofit that purchases medical debts for a fraction of its price, WOOD reported.

"They owe us nothing. We just find a need and we fill it. That's exactly what we did," Sam Rijfkogel, lead pastor of the church, told WOOD. "We just want to show them that there are people out there that love you, and more importantly, God loves you. We're trying to show you that he does (love you) in this tangible way."
